We have more than 16 people who want to kayak now, so I will see if we can set up a second kayaking trip. Is there anyone else interested, so I can tell the ranger an up to date number when I contact him?

Good morning, hangers! We've got a whopping 130 campers all revved up for our Fall MAHHA, and the excitement is contagious! Thanks for all the emails and messages!

Now, let's get down to business. To make sure this event is a gastronomic triumph, we need your culinary contributions. If you've RSVP'd but haven't spilled the beans on what's cooking, please, do us a flavor (pun intended) and mark down your dish on the sign up sheet. There is a tab for food sign up. We're currently in possession of a handful of mains, but we've got a mountain of mouths to feed, all 130 of 'em!

I get it, MAHHA attendees are known for their last-minute surprises, but if you've got your menu locked and loaded, help us out with planning by adding it to the sheet. FYI: We will be providing a big pot of chili!

You folks are absolute legends, and together, we're going to make this Spring MAHHA the best yet!

    Attention all first timers!

Two weeks from now, we’ll all be swinging from the trees! Wonder what to expect?

MAHHA is car camping, so be sure to include your hammock gear and everything you need for a comfortable stay. Remember, meals outside of Sat breakfast and dinner are on your own, so bring food and a cooler if needed. Once you arrive, head to the group parking lot (follow the yellow arrow on the map) and set up your hammock amongst the trees - no assigned sites here!

What really makes MAHHA special is the sense of camaraderie and belonging that you'll feel from the moment you arrive. This isn't just a gathering of strangers - it's a warm, welcoming community that's always eager to make new friends and share the joy of hammock camping. So don't forget to introduce yourself to your fellow campers and explore the beautiful surroundings. With no assigned sites and shared fire rings, it sets the stage to connect with each other, making it a truly special experience.

The events kick off on Saturday, so be sure to check out the MAHHA group page for the schedule. You can join us for whatever events on Saturday you wish. There is also free time between breakfast and dinner Saturday (lunch is on your own!) Take the time to go for a hike, hang out around camp, or check out the surrounding area. (There is a free kayaking excursion on the Long Pine Reservior, but you do need to pre-register.) Just be sure to be back for dinner and the raffle (tickets are $10 each-cash only) and potluck dinner featuring a big pot of chili!

You won’t want to miss it!

Sunday is low key and unplanned. Meals are on your own, and you can stay and enjoy the park until checkout at 3pm. See you soon!!!

Drum roll, please! Its raffle announcements time! Stay tuned for more!

First up is a donation from the awesome folks at The Green Tunnel Podcast! They have sent us 2 tumblers, stickers, and some lip balms!

I had the lucky fortune of meeting some folks from The Green Tunnel podcast at Trail Days this year, and I'm excited to introduce the podcast here at MAHHA! If you haven't stumbled upon the Green Tunnel Podcast yet, you're in for a treat. The trail has so many stories to tell, and The Green Tunnel is all about sharing them!

Here's what they have to offer in their own words:

The Green Tunnel Podcast explores the history and culture of the Appalachian Trail and the lands and communities connected to it. Each episode delves into a different topic, including the history of trail food, natural dangers hikers might encounter, the experiences of hikers of color, and stories of the lands the trail runs through. We also explore iconic locations found along the trail.

A new season of The Green Tunnel Podcast begins on October 17th. This season will dive into the natural history of the Appalachian Trail. We'll dig deep into the trail's geological past, climb chestnut trees, follow some critters down unexpected paths, and consider the history of the trail's future. We'll also highlight iconic locations across the trail, from the Priest Shelter in Virginia to the Kennebec River Ferry in Maine.

We've interviewed historians and scientists, hikers and authors, trail maintainers and mapmakers, to bring you new stories about the history and culture of the Appalachian Trail. Listen to all our episodes on your favorite podcast app and visit www.R2Studios.org for more information. Happy Trails.

Tony's honey is a sweet symphony of nature's finest, and he's donated some of his very own honey for the raffle!

Tony hand-selects prime spots for his hives in fields where the bees forage from wildflowers and herbs, turning them into liquid gold.

The bees then choose the shades, flavors, and textures of his honey based on their wildflower choices.

He's all about preserving the bee-magic, so he never, ever filters or pasteurizes his honey. He wants you to taste every bit of the bee's hard work and all the nutrients they pack into their sweet creations.

So, buzz on over to Anthony's Local Honey and savor the bee-spectacular flavor that only their bees and wildflowers can deliver. Don't beehave yourself—indulge in the sweetest sensation on Earth!
