Come out to Santee State Park at the Primitive Group site (beside of the boat landing) and join us in a weekend of fun by the Lake. We will have vendors on site, Gearage sale, group meal, educational workshops, and a gear raffle to benefit the SC State Park Palmetto Campout Program. Come help us raise $4K to donate to the program! If you plan to attend, please go to Palmetto State Hangers Facebook page under events and mark “GOING” on this event so we can get an accurate head count for food. This is also our membership renewal for the group.

Fall Sprawl 2023 Itinerary

Thursday

Noon: Registration Begins
Rest of the day is free of all to set-up, explore the park and just relax and get ready for the weekend’s events.

Friday

ALL Day: Gearage Sale- members buy or sell used gear. Members must leave their name+ phone number with gear on the Information slips of paper provided.

ALL Day: Splicing Station Demo- Trevor Bates (Hanging High Hammocks)

7am – 9am: Coffee and Breakfast until food is gone.
7am – 9am: Group members bring it to the kitchen and board members cook it.

9am – Noon: Vendors open for business

11am – Noon: YOBOgear Demo - Cal Fenton + Kristin Zook

Noon – 1pm: Lunch (on your own) and Vendors will be closed for lunch

1pm – 4pm: Vendor open for business

4pm – 5pm: YOBOgear Demo - Cal Fenton + Kristin Zook

6:30pm – 7:30pm: Dinner @ BBQ restaurant (Board Member and Vendors)
Group members on their own (can join us if they choose)

7:30pm – 10pm: Campfire Demo if we have someone to do it.
Midnight Bacon!!

Saturday

1. Financials are shared.
2. Members can ask the board any questions.
3. Board needs volunteers to plan and lead kayak +backpacking trips.
4. Fundraiser Ideas: to keep from increasing the membership cost due to inflation we need more funding.

10am – 10:30am Basic Wilderness First Aid - Sue Putnam & Rebecca Craig

10:30am – 11am What to do Until Medical Professionals Arrive - Alexandra Zuckerman

11am – Noon: YOBOgear Demo - Cal Fenton & Kristin Zook
● Their booth will be shut down during this time.

Noon – 12:30pm: Lunch (vendors will be shut down during this time)

12:30pm – 1:30pm: Ridgeline & Suspension Demo - AJ Glenn (Phoenix)

1:30pm – 2pm: Intro to Dutch Oven Cooking - Brian Odgers

2pm – 3pm: Bannock Bread Demo - Tim Bond & Ester Price

3pm – 4pm: DIY Rehydration Food Koozie - Paul Calewarts

4:30pm – 5pm: YOBOgear Demo - Cal Fenton & Kristin Zook

5pm – 6pm: Board Members begin setting up for the Potluck Dinner
● Mark Bloomer is cooking meat Chicken. We will either pay him cash or the equivalent in raffle tickets. ** his choice

6pm – 7pm: Dinner, clean up (Volunteers needed) and Board members set up for raffle.

Sunday

9am – 10am: Coffee & Breakfast
Members can use camp kitchen to cook their own breakfast.

10am – 11am: Pack up, clean up, and leave.
Everyone must be out of camp no later than 11am
