    Amazon hammock

Has anyone bought a hammock from Amazon? Would this one be decent enough quality for someone who camps 1-2 times per year? Or are the complete crap and not worth the $35?

114 inches long (9.5 feet). I am only 5'2" and it would be about 2 feet too short for me to be comfortable in. Each of us are different. You can always try it and if you hate it for overnight, use it as a lounger for day hikes.

If you want decent hammock you can get on Amazon I'd recommend a Onewind hammock. The hammocks and the tarps are good, most everything else I got from cottage venders known here.
I did try their quilts in the beginning, wasn't thrilled.

That’s strange. I’m 6’1” and I perfectly comfortable in my 115” hammock from Little Shop of Hammocks. As you say, everyone is different.

They are not too bad. There are many but for $35 the risk is minimal.

Shug, thanks. That’s helpful. What sort of knot would you recommend for those ropes. We’re those figure 8’s?

The only thing I might add is that some people can never get comfy sleeping in a short hammock. I wouldn't want that to be what turns someone completely away from getting into hammock camping.

For $65 I bought the 11' Ridge Outdoor Pinnacle 360 to replace my $35 10' cheapo. Much better. It looks a lot like the OneWind. I don't see it on Amazon any longer though. Their website doesn't work anymore either...hmmm

You might be most comfortable in a gathered end hammock 11 to 12 feet long. And if possible a width of 5 and a half feet (66 inches wide)
These are my best guesses, although some hammock campers claim to be comfortable in much smaller hammocks.
And you must have bottom insulation—either wide closed cell foam pads or better yet—under quilt

No matter what you choose, Have fun out there!
