Long time member first time introducing

Howdy, my name is Zach and I have been a member for a few years and just wanted to say thank you for the information all of you have shared. I have gained a lot of insight and learned a lot. I have never felt the need to post anything because every question I have had is already answered!

So to give a back ground I live in Idaho and calll the Rockies my home. I love to Hunt,Hike and Fish along with anything that keeps myboutdoors. I was looking for a way to improve my sleep while elk hunting on steep and rugged mountains(which rarely have level or flat spots for a tent). In that search I found Shug and this Site. I am happy to say that I have had many nights of great sleep in the hammock. I still use a hot tent from time to time depending on weather and season but I never sleep as good as I do in my hammock.

Thanks again for all the help!

Zach, fantastic you’re here. Panoramic country in Idaho. Just got back from Linville Gorge, hammock camping with some of the Gorge Rats here in North Carolina. It was good to get out there.

Thank you! And yes I really is beautiful. I am in love with the Rockies. I would like to see the Gorge someday. It looks like a really cool place. Those hard wood forests are beautiful in the fall.

Welcome to the party, Zach! There are a number of folks on here who use a hot tent to do hammock camping as well. I've seen 4-5 setups that really seem to work quite well, which surprises the heck out of me. Not my style of camping, but thought I'd throw that option out there.
