    UQ Attachment Question

Any suggestions on how to lock in or attach UQ to right shoulder of my Darien? I have uq hooks that are used for the suspension but want something closer to my shoulder to prevent uq shifting. I am head right, feet left, so right shoulder is on sewn side of Darien. Thanks!

You could try setting your UQ on a bias. See what I mean at 2:40 into video below.

Thanks Shug, I'll give that a try.

I had almost given up on using conventional underquilts until I started using DWG ridgeline quilt hooks. These snug up the primary suspension to the ends of the hammock, preventing drafts and reducing the overnight shifting of the UQ off your shoulder and/or feet.

Some have posted concerns about the sloppiness of the Wookie near your shoulder. That hook, with a small BullDog clamp, would probably wrangle that loose fabric. However, others have said the looseness is more a visual concern because, in practice, the Wookie seems to work just fine.

To save some searching. those hooks are found at: https://dutchwaregear.com/product/ridgeline-quilt-hook/

Thanks for the input Canadark, but my hammock (Dream Hammock Darien) has an integrated bug net preventing use of the clips. Great item though.

Thanks for the help cougarmeat, I use hammock gear under quilts but have never thought of using some kind of clamp to hold it onto my right shoulder. I'll give it a try.

I use these clips over both bugnets and top covers with no issues. I just carefully pressure fit the clips over the ridgeline and whatever is on top of the ridgeline (either bugnet or top cover).

HG UQ's have what they call a secondary suspension. You can put an S-biner on that and clip it to your hammock ridgeline (if you have one) Even without that extra (S-biner) lift, the secondary suspension usually eliminates and need for additional fiddling.
