VIDEO: Quick solo overnight backpacking trip

Hey everyone. It's been while since I brought out the hammock. I've been liking the group hang videos and seeing all the different setups. I noticed a lot of people were using pole mods so wanted to try something with trekking poles.
There was a chance of rain so I brought the HG Journey tarp. Using the trekking poles with the center tie-outs worked pretty well. I had already put a good length of shock cord on the ends so I didn't need to make too many adjustments.
    Cheers.

    From the YouTube description:
5/7/2023 - 5/8/2023 Henry W. Coe State Park - Frog Lake It's been over a month since the last trip. I'm still getting over some hip & knee soreness so have been doing mobility and strength exercises. Also, the NBA Playoffs are going on 😂. Even though it's a short route, I was still nervous to go. I'm feeling more grateful to get out backpacking.

Looks like a beautiful area out there for a getaway. Can’t beat a relaxing night in the hammock combined with some good fishing

Yeah, definitely. I need to take advantage of all the green before the dry heat arrives.

Yeah, brown is what I'm used to haha. We've had a really wet Winter and it's still relatively cold and wet compared to previous years. So there's a lot of green right now. Ponds that were mud puddles late Fall are now full.

Nice. I think we're in of those El Nino/La Nina cycles (I forget which) where the west coast gets rain, and its dry over here on the east coast.

Looks like you had a good time...plus, fishing!

Thanks! I went back out again this past Sunday and put up another video. Might as well keep it in the same thread.

    5/16/2023 - 5/17/2023 Henry W. Coe State Park - Redfern Pond

This trip was awesome. Steak, hammock, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and the biggest bass I ever caught.
