First of all, I want to thank each of you for coming out with a great attitude and making the event as special as it was.
A special thank you to Margie, LowTech, and Jingles for running the excellent clinics they put together!
When we started this organization in 2012 I never imagined it would be going so long. I feel like this years hang was a great reboot which invigorated the event with a lot of fresh blood and energy and solidified our group for years to come. The vibe was a little bit different than it has been in years past and I, for one, welcome the way things seem to be going. A few people had said they are going to being their families next year and I think it says a lot about the kind of folks who came out that people would feel OK with bringing their spouses and kids out to hang with all of us. To grow and be sustainable, this is the kind of thing we need. We had a total of about 24 people who came throughout the weekend and next year I’ll bet we have a bunch more. If you have someone you know who might be interested please do not hesitate to reach out for next year’s event.
Thank you to everybody who helped out with Maisie. It was the first time she went camping with me and we have only had her a couple of months so I had no idea how well she would do. I also want to say another thank you to everybody who participated with the sing-a-long. I had no idea if that was going to work or not and it was really special to me that everybody put in the effort and made it so.
I’ll post something in a few days with the amount of money we raised with the raffle. I am slowly but surely getting unpacked and cleaning everything up. I will get to paperwork after that.
