Hello everyone,
I love the design of the Blackbird XLC hammock. The cost of ordering this specific hammock to Europe would be too expensive for my budget, hence the idea to go the DIY route.
I find the combination of a large foot-box, plus the shelve space very intriguing.
I've been trying to understand which DIY design in this forum comes closest to the original.
I am aware of @TheXringHunt's design from 2011 (this seems to be the most up to date version of the pattern), as well as @1022's design from 2010.
@TheXringHunt's pattern is more detailed, but the parts have not been labeled and I couldn't really find any detailed sewing and assembly instructions, apart from a few hints in the thread.
@Yukon offered to create a CAD version of the TheXringHunt's design, but I can't find the actual CAD files anywhere on the forum.
While I am extremely grateful that people share their designs, I am unsure if I would be able to replicate the design as a budding DIYer due to the limited instructions.
Thus I have a few questions:
- Is anyone here aware of a beginner friendly sewing pattern and instructions for a Blackbird style hammock?
- Does a pattern exist that incorporates both a shelve and a foot-box in a design?
Thanks for your help!
