    90° hammock - co-sleeping with baby?

Probably as niche as it gets.
Though is someone using a 90° mat co-sleeping with a baby?
I'd say space-wise it should work with a wide pad, would love to hear first hand experience though.
    Thanks!

For all of the reasons I would not recommend co-sleeping with an infant in a bed, plus the additional risks of hammocking, I strongly recommend against this practice.

True, I forgot that the US is not a co-sleeping culture as many factors here speak against it for many parents - from obesity to smoking to medication etc.etc.
In many other parts of the world it's the norm though - with less preconditions speaking against it - and consequently without the possible downsides.

Anyway, without striking a general discussion - if someone has experience, I'd be happy to hear it!

I really hope that you can find someone on here that has the experience, but like you said the US is not that sort of cultural. If we'd have been hammock sleeping back then I'm sure I would have, I had already been around the people that lived their lives w/ the tradition Mayan hammocks as their full time beds and experienced their methods, but as it was they just shared our bed w/ us. I just couldn't imagine putting them in a little cage/crib by themselves every night and expecting them to grow up well.
    Good luck to you.

So here's my two cents as a recent new parent.

When my kid was about 6 months or so I would lounge in the hammock and she would nap laying on top of me. I was always awake though toodling away on my iPad or something. I would be to afraid to fall asleep with her in the hammock at that age.

I guess I'm just a light sleeper - there is no way possible that I could ever suffocate my own child, even if I had been drinking. I can hear a fly fart at 30 feet while I sleep! My wife was a breast-feeder, but there were often times when she just said, "Take this child away from me. I'm done." And I would go sleep on the couch with the baby on my chest.

However, I realize there are people who sleep a lot deeper than I do, and that can result in sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). It could never happen with me, but I can see how it could happen to others.

My wife would share the 12' GE hammock with my daughter when she was ~2-3 years old. Once she was 4, the fight for covers and tossing/turning moved them to the ground which is where she'll sleep until she's a bit older. My word of caution: don't hang higher than you'd be willing to fall is an important maxim with even more importance with your young child in your arms.
