Hello All,
New to HF, and glad to be here! I am a relative noob with hammock camping (about a year) but a fast study. Did my first below zero (-5°F) hang two weeks ago, it went really well even thought the stove in the hot tent didn't work as planned.Wondering if there are any hang groups in WY that get together on a frequent basis? If not maybe one needs to be formed? Either way, glad to be a member here and I look forward to learning and growing in the hanging community!

Welcome, neighbor. There used to be one in the Black Hills area, but haven't seen it in a couple years.
I haven't seen any WY hangs, but doesn't mean we couldn't start one. I will likely be doing the WYBDR through your area at some point.

Fremont County, eh? I was blessed to spend a decade in WY, a year out of Lander and nine out of Blackrock RS near Moran as the Teton Wilderness Manager. A lot of most excellent memories. Our home was in Bozeman and much my family lived in Billings so I did considerable driving between Fremont/Teton Counties northward. I didn't get into hammock hanging until after my time in WY, but that didn't stop me from taking in my share of fabulous scenery and adventure. Actually my avatar (?) is at the top of Deer Creek Pass crossing into the Teton Wilderness. You will find HF a veritable cornucopia of wisdom and opinion.
Welcome from Utah! I haven't heard of a group hang in WY, but that wouldn't be a bad idea or place for one. Generally central to MT, WY, UT, ID etc. The Wind Rivers wouldn't be a bad place by any means.

@OlTrailDog- Thanks for the warm welcome! I am sure the Wind River Range misses you! I lived in Lander as well for quite a few years. My first 2 years in WY I lived in Sink's Canyon while I was in college. There is no place like it, and so much hang potential here!
@Alamosa-- Well let me know when you head this way if you are anywhere near Lander! I would be happy to meet up if you need a tour guide! I had to look up the WYBDR and man, it makes me miss my 07 KLX...
Sinks Canyon is a phenomenal place. In fact, so is Lander on the whole as it is sheltered from the proverbial WY winds for the most part. Then there is the Wild Iris climbing area that also is quite special. As well as the Winds. I definitely gleaned a host of good memories of good times and good friends during my time in WY.
100% agreed! I moved to Fremont County in 2011 and you couldn't drag me out of this state kicking and screaming...My heart has always been in WY, i just didn't realize it until I was 24...
