    Beatle buckles on a WBRR

    Hello to all,
I have a new Warrbonett Ridgerunner and anticipate getting a Spin drift sock for it. I watched some videos on putting it on and see that you have to separate the suspension to install it. I took it apart and put a carabiner in between the suspension and the cinch buckle to make it easier to take apart easily. The carabiner works fine but its big and a little overkill. I was looking at the Dutchware Beatle buckles and they look to be a nice solution. I just don't know if they will work. Has anyone with a Ridgerunner tried Beatle buckles? How did they work?

    Thanks,
    J

I have Beetle Buckles, and often use them with all of my hammocks, including a Ridge Runner. (I agree that having to disassemble the suspension to put on the sock is a total pain, btw, though I have no idea how they could have designed it to avoid that task). I know some of the earlier ones had a different arrangement at the point of contact between the dogbones and the suspension, but mine just has a continuous loop there. The hooks on the Beetle Buckle attach effectively to the continuous loops. As far as that goes, the hooks on Autumn Outdoors Birch Buckles also attach well to continuous loops.

Sweet! I will be making a small purchase from Dutch! I may have to get two sets, looks like a nice system. BTW, my Ridgerunner is new, less than a month old and just has the continuous loops.

    Thanks for the info!

I removed the apex hardware on my RR a few years back. So from my RR, grey dog bones go into Dutch biners, coloured continuous loops on the top side of the biner hook over the Dutch Cinch Bugs (similar to Beetle Buckles), which are on the tree straps.

Not sure why the extra biner and loop. I think it’s because I wanted colour. Red for head, blue for shoe. Weight of biner is minimal but it’s super strong.

Edit: Now I think the biner just replaces the apex buckle that I removed.
