Good afternoon fellow Central Illinois Hangars, the results are in and with 5 votes Sand Ridge State Forest has won all of the other sites received only 1 vote each. Also overwhelmingly everyone wants to eat on their own, no big surprise there.
SO we are set for March 31 & April 1st. I just reserved site 9, which has a lot of trees to choose from for us. If you could either message me or post here that you will be in attendance I would appreciate it. I will post more information in the near future.
As more people join in on the fun I will reserve more sites for us. Site 9 is about a mile from the nearest parking area if you choose the quickest path and you can easily increase that distance based on where you park. The only downside for this area is that you'll have to pack in all of your water as I do not remember any sources out there. But it'll be easier to pack out empty containers lol.
If you have any specific questions or ideas please let me know.
Who else would like to attend this event?
I really want to get a more solid headcount.
Thanks!
Don
Buddy and I are backing out.
Severe storms forecast for the area on Friday night.
We are going to opt for a one-nighter closer to home Saturday - Sunday.
Sorry.....
We'll be at Forest Glen if anyone wants to join us.

That's understood!
I have not heard from anyone else formally on here that they are for sure coming and my fellow scouters are also not to fond of the weather that may happen - no one should camp with pending tornadoes on the forecast. I'll catch up with you on Saturday probably.
Confirmed... We will be camping at East Camp
We will be at the trailhead probably 11:30 or 12.
I like to be on site 5 but it's first come first served for those with a reservation, so no guarantees. We will be the two guys in hammocks.
PM me if you, or anyone else, would like more info

Don't wait on us at the trailhead but we will come out and join you with all likelihood at this point. Barring something unforseen.
See you soon.

Sorry that we missed you, we ended up cleaning up storm damage all weekend. Sucks, but I spent a lot of time behind the chainsaw which is somewhat rewarding. How did it go? Were there a lot of trees down?
