    Hello from Northern Jersey

Hey everybody. Just wanted to introduce myself really quick. My name is Steve and I’m from NJ like the title says. I am purchasing my first hammock: Dream Hammock Sparrow in the next month or so.

I enjoy backpacking and up until now I mostly use a tent. I enjoy doing overnight trips on the AT and Harriman State Park in NY. My son is going to start joining me on some short trips and he called dibs on the hammock already. I have been watching Shug on the YT to get some hanging pointers but I understand it will be a lot of trial and error.

I want to build the turtle dog or the pipe stand (thoughts on either?) to play around with in the yard and living room. I already purchased the Ultimate Hang book which is full of great info.

Thanks for sharing all of your hammock knowledge, I have a lot to learn.

Some hammock campers hang their hammocks in Pine Barrens. You might want to camp there too!

Welcome from the Jersey Shore. As Phantom Grappler mentioned, there are plenty of Pine Barrens campers. We're having our 16th Annual NJ Winter Hang coming up 2/3 through 2/5 at Batona Camp in Wharton State Forest.

Come on down, meet some hangers and check out their setups!

Welcome Steve, Yes check out the hang this coming weekend. I am in Oakland but don't think I am going to make this one. Trying to get out to Stokes some time soon, if they get some more snow.
