Hey guys, I just got started with group hangs (HangCon 2023 was my first hang and first time in a hammock setup), but I am loving it. Trying to get my wife into it as well, but she is not outdoorsy, so time will tell. Can you tell me more about the Sherpa Hang (location, activities, cost, etc.)?

It will be at Gator Hole in Green Swamp West. The trailhead is off SR471 on the Sumter County side of the Withlacoochee River. It is a 1.5-mile hike along the orange blazed Florida Trail. As you pass the small pond and approach the sugar sand road look for the trail marker hiding under the trees on your right. Activities? Mostly sit around the fire. No cost. A good place to hang and see other setups. Welcome aboard.

This! Was getting dark and I missed it the first time I headed out there. Olddog was kind enough to holler out to me as I was walking along on the sugar sand road.

Thank you. I am just learning, but I have the basics down. I have a Fox Outfitters 10.5ft hammock, Madera Outdoors bug net and tarp, top and bottom insulation from Jacks R Better and whoopie sling suspension from Myers Tech Hammock Labs. I am cutting my teeth on this setup and hopefully, before next HangCon, I will have a new professional setup.

Thanks, olddog. I was hoping I didn't miss the thread so I'm glad I didn't. Karen and I are looking forward to this hang.
This has become her favorite one.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

I made the reservations for Thursday - Sunday just to make sure I got them. I'll be going in on Thursday noonish.
