Wildcat hollow has a few campsites that are a short distance from the parking, that’s the only thing I can think of that’s not all the way down here in Scioto county.

The answering machine message, which was recorded in Sept., says that all Park-n-Pack campsites remain closed. I'll call again on Monday and try to connect to a real person. Other options might be Wildcat Hollow, Tar Hollow (Fee), . . .

Never did Wildcat. I've heard stories about it's mud, but I'm willing to brave it. Also walk-in and hike sites are there, right? My legs and back are all in good shape if we wanted a longer trek... I'm good for what ever gets the most of us out there

You can read more info about it here: https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/wayn...ea/?recid=6228 I believe Trees and I stayed there a couple of November's ago. There is a place to camp just off the parking lot and there are places to camp along the trail. There is a nice place right where the trail splits and more (going left at the split) close to the creek depending on it depth. It just depends on how far you want to walk and weather you are the first one there.

FYI - It can be muddy.

I left a message at the number of the Mohican State Forest Webpage yesterday morning during their OPEN hours. As of 4:45 today, I have not heard back. So, I think we need to cross Mohican off our list for February. I am not familiar with Zaleski. How far do we have to camp from the cars? Is everyone able to carry enough water to last the whole time we are there or will we need to hike back to get water. I know in Wildcat Hollow that we can camp within 1 mile of our cars. Thoughts?

Here is a Zaleski trail map. https://ohiodnr.gov/static/documents...i_backpack.pdf

Looks like parking at "N" and hiking to "Camp 1" is about 2 miles. It also looks like there is water there but not sure how available it is in winter. Anyone know?

    Rev,

Zaleski has potable water at all 3 of their primitive sites and pit toilets. They are various distances from the trailhead but there are options for short hikes into some of the sites, 1/4 mile, 2 miles depending.
