    Recommendations on Dutch Xenon Winter

    Hey y’all,

Ive been using a Eno profly for years (ok a decade) and it’s got the job done, but i never had any tremendous storms in it. I’m looking to get into a Winter Tarp (mainly wider with doors) so i can more comfortably extend my camping into fall / winter conditions.

I think I’m settled on the Dutchwear Xenon Bonded Winter. $ is good. Coverage seems good. Weight is good. I like the ease of field repair, too. Any confirmations or other recommendations?

thanks in advance for your insight!

I have the wide rectangle with a pole mode, bought before xenon but I love that tarp. The coverage is huge, the inner pole mod really opens it up, the inner Ridgeline is handy to hang things. It's very flexible with set up options.

The winter I think is similar but larger.

Here are some of my setups

I also have the wide rectangle tarp and I took it on our Boy Scout high adventure trip to Philmont and I concur that the tarp is huge. I was looking for a light weight alternative for our dining fly and the tarp worked out great giving us a lot of room to hang out in when it rained. Now I switch between it and my Superfly tarp when hammocking

I got Dutch’s Bonded Xenon Winter Tarp 12 foot ridgeline by 11 foot six inches wide, with double pole mods.
Light enough to backpack. Large footprint for light rains, and can be battened down-closed for wind driven rains.
Thank you Dutch for a great tarp

    Available in smaller dimensions too!

I have a Dutch UL bonded xenon winter tarp as well but not wide. I figured this may be the last tarp for a while so I sprung for the Kryptek Mandrake pattern. Love everything about it!
