    First night in Tensa4

I'm a lucky guy. My wife got me a Tensa4 stand for Christmas. I plan to add the solo conversion kit soon. I set it up in the backyard then decided to try it out for a quick overnight in a state park where the campground is closed for the season. I got it set up pretty easily but I had to work to get the tarp (11' Superfly) stretched tight. I wasn't able to set it up well with the guylines, so I used a soft shackle to the straps.

This made the tarp nice and taut with no sag.

Tightening the tarp pulled the head end strap very tight, so after taking this picture, I loosened the strap a few inches (on the left in the photo) so the stand had some flex to it. The tarp was soft shackled to one pole on the head end. Everything worked great overnight and I'm very happy with the Tensa4. Any suggestions on anything I could do better from veteran Tensa users?

I use a loop of shock cord on one end of the tarp ridgeline d-rings to allow some tension self-adjustment when the hammock is loaded. Makes the setup less fiddley and eliminates the risk of a torn tarp.

I think it looks good! Love my Tensa4. The Tensa folks do make some tarp extenders that fit onto the ends, and that helps with my 12 ft tarp. I think what you did with your 11 ft tarp looks okay. If it works, it works.

Your Tensa4 setup looks great. Like Crazytown3 said, if it works, it works. Love your ride, too!

Thanks Nualle! I love my recumbent. Most comfortable bike I've ever ridden. After I rurned 50 I became more focused on comfort, switching from tent to hammock and upright bike to recumbent.
