I was cold during the day last year, so have been working on mitts that fit the tops of my pacer poles to keep my hands warm and fitted underquilts for my PBH (including one that may morph into a bridge-pod, though, truth-to-tell, I was plenty warm while sleeping). Fortunately, I have a big tarp, so you two packsniffers are welcome to come and inspect. If the weather breaks, we can follow Bonsaihiker to that "little stream" he mentioned (Quebec branch - been-there-done that -, which i first saw by the light of Wisenber's flashlight ... I could go on. May this year provide more vivid memories! More coffee, Hickery.

Only a packsniffer would be foolish enough not to check out your innovations WV.

Unfortunately the forecasts I’ve been following for the lower elevations where the group camp is are mostly calling for rain the majority of the weekend. Temps aren’t expected to get below freezing except on Saturday early am.

Accuweather for Grayson Higlands and Weather.com for White Top seem to agree with what you're seeing.
Friday high 50, low 32. Saturday high 44 low 28 with rain and snow mix on Saturday. Heavy winds throughout.

Its important to note that the gear for damp near freezing can be much different than subfreezing.
And make sure your stove has a good wind screen.

I feel like a true underachiever in that regard. Outside of a few Climashield pieces I acquired for damper paddling trips, I haven't picked up anything new in years. The old stuff that kept me warm at minus 15 still does the trick over a decade later.
