Unless the weather makes driving an issue, David and I will see you guys there. Which campground is it? I've never been to Grayson-Highlands before.

    VA > GHSP/ Mt-Rogers-Winter-Hang > Jan 19 - 22, 2023

    Grayson Highlands State Park
    829 Grayson Highland Lane
    Mouth of Wilson, VA 24363

After entering park, pass information booth, pass Rangers office, and take second (?) right for
    Hickory Ridge Campground
You will pass Overnight Backpacking Parking Lot
You will pass a small camp store
We are in Group Campsite behind bathrooms
If you go too far, you will be in circular loop of numbered individual campsites. Hickory Ridge Campground appears on Google Maps along with Camp Store!

    Hillbilly directions
Go over yonder, up air, where we wuz last year, you cut and keep cutting and you can’t miss it

That would be correct Phantom Grappler, 2nd road on the right as you go up the main park road.

Tom Tom, with the gear you have now, I'd say you will sleep plenty warm.
My biggest problem has been staying warm, standing and sitting around camp.

Wind shields for the top and bottom would be your friends.
I too will something make and joy in it's making

Closed cell foam under your feet for standing and sitting will help.

What’s the hanging tree situation like at the group camp area? Lots of options?

Plenty of trees to hang from.
Starting near the group site and on down into the woods.
We use the pavilion and the big fire ring beside the pavilion.
We just want to keep it clean.
But they don't want us going on the other side of the pavilion to hang hammocks.
Others can fill in the ones new to this hang.

Sweet. Looking forward to it. Forecast is looking reasonable so far but still hoping for some white stuff.
