    Gotta get packed!

    Raladd! Eagle Scout! Wow
Oyster, yes BigFoot could still be at Spencer Creek Bridge. I’ll be ready to share my 47 ounce mug of java ☕️with Sasquatch as long as he holds his pinky finger out and doesn’t slurp too much
Mooseman and PappyAmos I’ll see y’all in 2023!

With a total pack weight of 20# , there were lots of warm clothes, and a zero* set of quilts to keep me warm. Slept warm but started as usual with cold toes that warmed through the night. I saw no campers or hikers Friday and Saturday except for a about a dozen Boy Scouts and their dads and one mom, on trail close to Yates.

Fingers got cold packing my frost-ice covered tarp.
Must have had a brain freeze, as I noticed I’d forgotten to shake frost-ice off tarp before packing.
I promptly cured that by speaking foreign languages and stopping several times to warm my fingers.

Friday, I got to Yates around 400pm and got to Beech Camp just before sunset, got camp set up and water filtered just as it got dark. I was too saaarrrry to get wood for campfire.

It was good to camp again!

    Aaaaaaiiiiggghhhtt!

    Straight out of Clayton.

Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.

I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.

A solo is right good for the soul. Plus all the boogers and haints in the woods love to spy on a solo camper. After your cheese and coffee.
