Hello from the Florida East Coast!

I am happy to be here! My interest is primarily in making my own gear and I am having a blast dialing in and fine tuning hammock systems for me and my family. I've incorporated a lot of ideas I've learned here and hope to have some worthwhile contributions as well. I've also registered for hangcon so looking forward to that.
My current setup is a DIY 10.5 ft 1.6 oz hyperd hammock with knotty mods, DIY .5 oz noseeum bugnet, 10x10 silnylon tarp, and DIY polyester webbing tree straps with UCRs that are adjustable from 1 to 6 feet.
In work I have a 6x9 silpoly tarp that I'm calling my bikini top, and in the pipeline I have two top quilt builds, an underquilt build, and an insulated hammock build and my goal is to have it all done by hangcon!
I'm looking forward to sharing the builds and interacting with everyone along the way!

very cool! it’s easy to tell you’re from the fla, since your insulation is the last thing you worked on!

I didnt think about it but you are right that the bugnet for me was a much higher priority. I've been getting by with just a jungle blanket but a couple nights the temps plunged into the upper 60s and I think that's about the comfort limit for me without an underquilt.
