I don't remember if I already mentioned this, but as on previous FBHs, I plan to bring a pot of my wife's chili to share (beef, not venison this year) along with the traditional fixins, and some firewood for Friday night.
I will bring jalapeño poppers for Friday and hashbrown casserole for breakfast. I will bring a folding table
Mathineer (Tom) may come for supper or a visit Friday but likely cannot stay the night.
Terry Hawn believes there will be some slick spots remaining on 2 lane roads and slush/ice on slopes.
I’ll be coming up from Southwest MO (about 4 hrs away) after work on Friday as long as the roads aren’t bad. My niece will be coming from St. Louis. Turns out I will have to have the 9 week old pup in tow after all. Long story there. But my choice is bring him or don’t come.
I’ll bring marshmellows, Hershey bars, Graham crackers, and gluten free chocolate covered mint cookies (for those of us that can’t use Graham crackers to make our s’mores!) and packages of hot chocolate and vanilla chai tea (they’re good mixed together!).
Mathineer (Tom Pelican) informed me the pond on top will have water but the pigs use it as a wallow.
Thanks. I’m glad you are still planning to come. Another female hiker from St. Louis may be coming for Saturday. I believe I convinced Tom Pelican to at least come by on Friday. A nearby resident in Lesterville told me that warmer weather predicted tomorrow should reduce the ice. Terry Hawn said to expect some icy patches, so crampons would be helpful if available. If you do not have crampons be sure to bring hiking poles.
