    New Trail Lair

I just got a new single layer Hexon 1.6 Trail Lair and got a chance to spend some time laying in it today.

HOLY COW!!! I dont know if its the material, the design of the hammock or what, but its the most comfortable hammock I've ever laid in! And the views out of it are incredible. I feel like somehow with the way the bugnet is cut I get another foot of looking outside on each side of the hammock.

I got mine with a zippered storage pouch on the head end to store my headlamp, ebook, hat/gloves, etc at night instead of a ridgeline storage bag and think I will love this system.

Cant wait to get out and spend a few more days snoozing in this thing.

I have similar setup. I was out a couple weeks ago during that hot spell we had on the east coast. I went all in with SLD, have the Trail Lair, Modular UQ with 3.6 oz (40 degree ) Apex and a 3.6 add on with snaps. A custom 11' tarp with partial doors and snaps + Skins + single pole mod... LOVE IT!

Just ordered today his 40 degree Eclipse TQ because I was cookin in my 20 degree Bandit. Going all Apex synthetic in summer and warmer weather just makes sense to me. Everything fits nicely in my 40 liter pack and base weight ( with chair ) is around 11 pounds, prob less with this new quilt!

Its a superb hammock. I love the way its cut, I feel like I get even greater views from the trail lair than I have with other hammocks.

I have the basic, no net, Tree Runner and a couple of other Hammocks in Hexon 1.6 — great material!

Also have hammocks made with MTN (Robic when I got 'em!) 1.7 and for me that ~1.6 number seems to be the sweet spot.

Yeah this is my first Hexon fabric hammock.

I do really like it, but I still give the slight edge to AirWave. Totally a personal preference I know, but I love how soft AirWave feels.

Nice! The Trail Lair was one of my first hammock purchases, and I had him make it using the fabric full width. It's super roomy and comfy!

Yup, still my go to hammock. I've even taken it on a few winter trips over my XLC which was my previous go to winter hanger with its shelf. Still loving it! Thinking of getting one made in AirWave down the line.

My wide Hexon 1.6 Trail Lair was my go-to until I got one in Hexon 1.2. Just as comfortable, less extra fabric flapping about and just under a pound.

    I am now intrigued.

I seem to go in 5 year ultralight cycles and I wonder how much weight I'd save switching to a 1.2 Hexon Trail Lair as compared to a 1.6....
