HH Zip or no Zip

Ok, now I've got a dilema I just got an Expedition Asym and was excited to find out there's a company that does a zipper mod, horray ! But now I notice REI's got a Exped. Asym with a zipper. I checked out the Hennessy site and they don't list the Exped Asym with a zipper option.

Do I take back my REI Asym and exchange it with the one with the zipper or pay the 50 bucks to have the modded zipper put in?

I can't offer a suggestion one way or the other, but I can tell you that 2Q & ZQ have the highest quality of work. You will not be disappointed with the workmanship.

BUT you wont have any option on how the zipper opens .. if you went to 2q & zq . im pretty sure they offer atleast 3 diffrent options on how you would like the zipper on your hammock.atleast then you know with out a doubt its what YOU want .. and will be the best quality craftsmanship.. although i have not sent my HH to 2q/zq for a mod ..the vendors here on HF are amazing. the quality and customer service, ive seen thus far has been so good..

In addition to this, the HH model that comes with a zipper probably doesn't have the bottom opening. If you still want that option available to you, go with the mod. (You could call HH to double check, but I think all their zipper models forgo the bottom opening to save weight)

Send it to ZQ and it gets done in Pennsylvania by someone that really cares. The other option is China.

My hiking partner and I just had our HH's modified through 2Q and ZQ. We both opted to keep our bottom entry intact.

They do fantastic work ... so I would vote for sending your hammock out to them for the modifications of your choice.

I don't know anything about the HH zipped model.
I have the 2Q ZQ mod # 3 and I think the world of it. I kept the bottom entry for no reason other than it was there.
Rest easy with a 2Q ZQ mod.

Thanks for all the input. I had a feeling that was the answer anyway. I think I'd rather have the bottom opening AND and zipper. I've read lots of great posts about the 2Q ZQ folks and would love to send my HH to them,
