I got both — my camping ranges between really sandy soil and hard soil with some clay in it. The screws really will drill down into loose soil.

tinktheman12 - kind of depends on if the ground freezes. If you can put stakes (boom, orange, or other) in the ground, here's another thought. I saw one video, or maybe a (LowTech) post, where the line normally going to one stake was branched off into two. So you had the two lines coming off the SOLO, and at their ends, another line split off to stakes making an equilateral triangle with about 2 ft on a side. This reduced the "pull" that would occur with just one stake per line.
Unfortunately, "Solid ground" is a little fuzzy. It could be solid because it's frozen, Solid because there's nothing but lava rock 6" under the soil (welcome to Bend), Solid because it's hard pack clay. Or Solid because it's soft enough to hold a bombproof (i.e. solid) anchor.
I would try orange screws for soft ground - like grass or sand.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.
