Symmetrical vs Feet Left or Right

I have a 11’ and a 12’ Symmetrical Chameleon and am curious if I had chosen Feet Left or Right, if it would have made the lay any flatter or larger? Or does it just cut back on extra material and weight?

Being 6’ 3” and 195 always looking for more comfort… Both are pretty comfortable but both tend to push my feet together at the heels.

    Still working on “perfection”

    Thanks Everybody

I don't think so. I think the lay refers to the way the bugnet is sewn onto the hammock body. I have an XLC that is Head Right, feet left, but when you unzip the bugnet from the hammock, the remaining body appears to be symmetrical. I cannot find any difference in either. I often switch directions in the hammock and I cannot tell any noticeable difference in the hammock with respect to comfort. I just notice the bug net is closer when I lie in the opposite direction (neglecting the way that I have the underquilts biased.).

HH is correct... asym is determined by the net shape alone with the Chameleon.

What makes it a chameleon is that you can flip the asym net for either right or left lay. So I suppose one could argue that a symmetrical Chameleon isn't really a chameleon.

Indeed. You can flip the bugnet to change the lay.
