Go to some group hangs, to see lots of different hammocks set up in every imaginable way.
And watch Shug’s YouTube short instructional and entertaining videos on hammocks, suspensions, tarps and insulation.
A shout out from the “real Denton” North Carolina

I’m trying to find some local groups to connect with. And Shug’s videos are one of the reasons i got into it. The dude is funny, and very informative!

nice to meet you, and thanks for the welcome!

Welcome from Henderson Texas! I recently transplanted from North Carolina, but I've already camped in a few places here: Dinosaur Valley State Park, Martin Creek Lake, Tyler State Park, and Fairfield Lake State Park.
I've seen where there is a group hang here - my kids and I tried to go to the one last year but got there too late to meet anyone.

Had my first overnighter a couple weeks ago, and it was a game changer for me. I love camping, but never really was comfortable in a tent. The hammock was freakin amazing

Yea I’m from lufkin, so not too far from Henderson. We went to Martin Dies State park a few weeks ago. It was ok, but I’m wanting to see what else is around here.

Dinosaur Valley has been my favorite so far, but it was also the first park I went to where I wasn't car camping with the kids. I'd end up carrying most of their gear if we had to hike in
