Unhappy Has anyone else become exclusively a side sleeper AFTER getting into hammocking?

About a year and a half ago I bought my first camping hammock, a Dream Hammock Sparrow, and bought a nice tarp and some nice under quilts for it, the whole setup. Unfortunately, over the past several months, I've somehow switched from sleeping (in my bed) on my back most nights to being exclusively a side sleeper. I now sleep terribly in my hammock and am thinking about selling my setup and switching to tent camping. Has anyone ever experienced something like this?

I side sleep in my sparrow, mine is quite large but I don't have issues with it.

Also bridge hammocks are good for that

I've tried side sleeping in my Sparrow and haven't had any success unfortunately. I've heard of bridge hammocks but haven't looked into them much, I'll have to check them out. I live in Utah now so maybe this is a sign to get a tent so I can camp in southern Utah though

Tensa 4 is your friend I’ve hammock camped lots of places in southern Utah. Arches, Zion, Snow Canyon, Capitol Reef… can’t hurt to have a tent. But a Tensa will keep you in the air in a lot of places you might not otherwise.

I guess this doesn’t address your issue. Some have mentioned bridge; There’s always the Haven tents and the Amok Draumr (I do have a Draumr and can vouch for the comfort level, but like the Haven, it’s just heavier to carry if you’re doing a lot of distance backpacking).

Lastly… how long & wide is your Sparrow?

While not "exclusively" a side sleeper, I do find myself side sleeping quite a bit in my hammock with no problems.

I have the Warbonnet bridge & an Amok Draumr because I'm a side sleeper. It's an expensive habit, side sleeping!

Just the opposite. I became a back sleeper when I started hammock sleeping. Previously I've been a side sleeper except occasionally back sleeping during a nap. I do end up on my side in the hammock once in a while.

I sleep exclusively on my side, whether in a bed, my trail lair, or my full-time woven at home.

I do like a little pillow or rolled up jacket under my neck.
