ADVICE NEEDED: Door Guylines for Thunderfly Tarp?

I'm totally new to hammocks and have bought new gear for an upcoming section hike of the Ouachita Trail. I bought a Thunderfly Tarp and would appreciate advise on guyline lengths and rigging for the doors. I've looked at lots of photos: many are guying the doors to a tree if close enough, but sometimes I see that the guyine has to be staked to the ground if the tree is farther away. Please let me know what works for you (length, type of cordage, and any specific hardware or knots). Many thanks in advance.

I typically use 4’ (about 1.5m) for the ground ties, and 6’ (2m) for the door tie outs.

For my tarp door management, I really like this piece of hardware from Zpacks. Lets you unclip individual doors for entering/exiting without needing to remove the line from the tarp entirely.

Thanks for this jcksparow. I had seen the Zpacks Apparatus, but I wasn't sure if it would work with the Warbonnet hardware, which is pretty beefy. I bought the Hammock Gear Tarp Door Clips, but they don't fit very well. I may give the Zpacks option a shot.

Often I just use my extra tarp ridgeline tie-outs to bring down and wrap around the tree low and use the extra tie-out left over to goy out the beaks.
Or just clip them back if not needed. Simple and works.

If the D-rings are too bulky to fit, you can larkshead small loops of cordage onto them and attach the hardware to those. Alternatively, if you already have those Hammock Gear clips, you can cut the clip part off and replace it with an S-biner, like so: IMG_2350.jpg

Certainly overkill, but I have Dutchware Stingerz on my tarp doors - one on each end. I can clip the doors together and go around the tree, down to a stake, or run the line through the door d-ring on the opposite end and back to fold my doors up out of the way. It also gives me an extra suspension line if something happens to mine or if somebody else needs one (which has happened at a group hang).

I'm pretty trashy when it comes to this. I just wrap the cordage around a stick a few times and jam it into the ground. Or around the tree if close enough (90% of the time). I'd guess mine is 5' long Z-line form Zpacks.

I use about 5' lengths for my guyline on the corners and about 4' for the doors.

I really like using Evo loop shackles for my doors instead of a carabiner. Just personal preference but they've worked really well for me.
