I think your fingernails are too long weight-wise...

(And I think I just might be a bit over-caffeinated this morning...)

I use them as food, they require a good chew, but boy the nutritional value!

As long as we've strayed far from the clothes drying concern and moved on to the various ways to do a ridgeline, what about guylines? I'm curious what your approach might be. Always interested in what others are doing.

With DCF tarps, I like the CRL (which TominMN correctly points out is actually single-line, which by repeated misuse and misunderstanding has become synonymous with "CRL") because it suspends the tarp under the cordage and reduces stress on the tarp itself. With two lines, if one tree sways and the other doesn't, all that additional stress is transmitted directly to the tarp... DCF is very low stretch and voila! the tarp sometimes shreds. Not often but it does happen.

Personally, I don't use hardware but rather a small selection of simple knots that I have tested thoroughly in all seasons for a few years. Works for me, and there are a few others who have chosen a similar path.

I use dyneema line and truckers hitches, zero hardware. Which then makes me wonder why I dont just do that on the ridge lines too.

This seems like a very good use of $10 - thanks I will sign up.
