One other question, do you splice the loop or just knot it on itself?

No reason the pull loop couldn't be a spliced CL, other than 1.7 is harder to splice than 7/64. Neat and tidy.

Yes, you are right, prusik has two lines running through it—the ridgeline and pull loop
It has a similar look and function of Bachmann Knot
In bachmann knot the carabiner would be the pull loop in prusik with pull loop
