    Amok Draumr XL Tarp Coverage

I am considering an Amok Draumr in the XL size. Is the main benefit of the Amok Skjold 10 tarp that it is super wide to accommodate the Draumr sideways design? Or are there other benefits to the Skjold for the Draumr? My current tarp is 144" long by 112" wide. I am thinking this would not be wide enough for an XL Draumr. Any thoughts or advice?

    Thank you!

My Warbonnet Superfly is 120" wide and 132" long and just covers it.
You may be a little short width-wise to really cover that foot end.

If you want a fly with doors, SLD has one for 90-degree hammocks. Most of the others with doors aren't going to reach the ground, as they're designed for (mostly) GE hammocks. Of course, there's the Amok fly, but that is doorless and nylon. I personally am not averse to nylon flies, but I know there's a strong preference lately for poly.

    Dutch has a poly one that's 108" X 138".

The Draumr is shorter across the suspension (like eight feet buckle to buckle) and longer in the direction of lay. The Skjold 10 measures 9.84 feet across the suspension (for the Draumr) & 12.47 feet in the direction of lay. The Amok tarp tieouts allow you to string it up with either way (for their Draumr or their gathered end hammock). I have a 12 3/4 by 9 1/2 foot rectangular tarp with centre pullouts (on the sides) that can set up the same way as the Amok's (12 3/4' in direction of lay). I think the rectangular would protect the head and foot ends better from hard driving rain (but not as well as a winter tarp design) than the Skjold.

Thanks for the tip on the SLD tarps for 90-degree hammocks! I'll have to check those out.

Good info on the dimensions. Thank you!
