Quick 2 nights near Long Lake, NY

I was scheduled for a 3 day canoe camping trip in the ADK’s this weekend but after an MRI learned that I have a torn labrum in my rotator cuff. I still wanted to do something, and didn’t want to carry a full pack for any great lengths at the advice of my Physical Therapist, so I did a simple base camp at Forked Lake and some hiking on the NPT with a light day pack from Long Lake to Kelly Point and back.

Awesome. #1 That you still got out there and did something.. You made it happen. That's so important because sometimes its easy to do nothing and then wish you did something. #2. Beautiful area for sure!! The Adirondacks are spectacular!! #3. Nice pictures too!!

Good on ya for getting out there and making the best of it!

Great pics, and nice seeing a place that isn't drought-stricken for a change... ahhh, flowing water...

Of Wolf and Man - Thanks for sharing. I haven't spent much time in NY and I'm always surprised at how beautiful it is. Love the rocky landscape surrounded by water and forest. Take care of that shoulder for next seasons paddling adventures! I'm looking forwards to the TR's.

Beautiful photos! Love Forked Lake. I have been there several times. The Island is the best!

Nice shots. Water looks like it was flowing. Hoping your rotator cuff heals quick!
