    Black Forest Trail

Last week we planned on hiking the 40 mile BFT, but due a extreme storm one us in the group, the only one using a tent was flooded Wednesday night. Soaking all his gear forcing us to cut our hike short. Sooo with being bummed out I wasn't focused completely on tearing down my gear and managed to leave a hammock strap on the tree or laying beside it. The strap has Dutch Ti clips and Dutch Cinch bugs on it. If you live in the area feel free to retrieve and keep the strap, it's not worth driving 3 hours to get it.
The campsite was MM27 @ Callahan Run (I think). It's the first campsite after the picnic table down the trail and cross the creek. About 2 mile from Slate Run Rd the Yellow blaze hiking clockwise
Monday thru Wednesday was great hiking sorry we had to cut it short. Definitely I'll be going back. Oh, guess who's in the market for a hammock and gear

OldnWay, welcome to the club. Gear - especially if it's tricked out with hardware, left on a tree and sitting in your UQ instead of the hammock body are sort of rites of passage. If you are in the hammock world long enough, it will happen. Hopefully, not more than once (pain, financial or otherwise, is a great teacher).
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.

Sounds like you made the best out of the situation. Sucks to lose gear like that. How was the trail itself?

Trail was great, very tough. Wish I would have hiked it in my younger years
