Hey y'all. A new user on the forum and just getting back into camping. I have been planning a solo trip out to the Uwharries and just happened to see this thread just before i leave the house. Maybe I'll see y'all out there!

    Uwharrie Backpacking 16 17 18 September 2022

Jeeplightning, join us when you can.
Grayson Fall Festival Hang is this coming weekend
    Car camping

And Spencer Creek Bridge Hang is October 7 8 and 9 Friday Saturday Sunday
    Backpacking short miles

Yates Hang is first weekend of November
Car camping, but some of us also backpack from Yates Place Campground, and return by Saturday afternoon

Also if you post a backpacking hang on Hammock Forums, about a week before time of hang, then hammock campers might opt to join you

When posting a hang in Hammock Forums in the forums section, under outings and hangouts, Southwest, be sure to follow Hammock Forums format.
Listing state abbreviation first, name of hang and start date and finish date and year

Briefly describe your hang—car camping or backpacking and list location where we will park our cars. And describe location we will camp—in case anyone arrives late

Again, I was That Guy, at least I didn’t hold anyone back. I said y’all go on at end of camp on Sunday
I lollygagged and enjoyed one more small mug of Java Joe, before packing gear and heading up Dutchman’s Creek Trail and Uwharrie Trail

Thank you for camping with us in Uwharries
Oyster, and Joe, RoyRoughbutt, Phantom Grappler, and Twistytee-Andy. Andy your two dogs are good friends…with better manners than most hammock campers.

We all drank coffee, but I was afraid we were going to ration coffee, because Dutchman’s Creek was at lowest level I’ve ever seen it.
Does anyone know if Dutchman’s Creek has ever run dry?

Special thanks to RoyRoughbutt for gathering wood, breaking wood into smaller sizes, lighting a new way to start a campfire, and giving warmth in cool night air and best of all a great home for telling true stories.

A flow chart will be needed to help me understand the logistics of a couple of your true stories.

Joe told stories of far away lands. And Oyster, your Momma should have whipped you more, to get you to stay with the program and not create true stories out of whole cloth. That was a killer FancyFeast stove. Good for coffee and a hot meal.

Look forward to seeing y’all at various hangs.

Lots of fun! Big thanks to Phantom and Roy for showing us the area and explaining some of the history there. Also Twisty for bringing the guard dogs to keep the yotes out of the camp. I believe they would have invaded camp had his dogs not been there. They got CLOSE.
Joe and I believe that Roy needs to go on tour with his stories. We'd had a great time around camp listening to them. Joe and I went up Lick mountain Saturday to check it out. Very pretty up there, once you catch your breath.

Don't let Phantom tell a fib. He hung out after we left because of the rumor that a women's Swedish swimsuit team might be camping near there and stayed behind. Look forward to getting together again soon.
