Layering an Eclipse TQ over say a 30d down bag

Anyone have one of Jared’s APEX TQs and stack it over a down bag? Does any down get compressed in the foot box?

I don’t have an eclipse but I do this with a Big Agnes Kings Canyon primaloft quilt that has a semi-closed footbox and I don’t notice down compression on my primary quilt. Jared specs the eclipse with a 42” footbox which seems roomy enough.

I have one of his 40 Degree Eclipse TQ's and will pair that with my UGQ 20 Degree Bandit. I was thinking that the Apex may be better under the down TQ to keep the compression of the down to a minimum. I have used the Eclipse a couple times this summer and it works great.

Welcome! I ended up ordering one, I’ll post about it when received. I plan on layering it over, similar to rationale here: https://timmermade.com/technology/ov...re-management/

    Possum:

thanks for the reference article. This makes more sense than my fear of compressing the down.
