    Hello from the NC mountains

My name is James, and I am sort of new to the camping hammock. I’ve spent 50+ years sleeping on the ground in a tent, but I’ve taken many a nap in the campsite in a cheap hammock. After my last backache sleeping on the ground, I finally did it and bought a WB Ridgerunner. The test hangs in the yard have been game-changing, and I’m looking forward to trying it out for a weekend hike next weekend. I have really learned a lot watching all the videos and reading all the advice on this forum, and appreciate the wealth of knowledge and experience.

Welcome James! Like @pappyamos said, come meet a bunch of great NC hangers at a group hang, and you'll enjoy the company. I rock a WBRR like yourself, and used mine in -7 degree weather at a group hang (with a pad an a UQ). If you get stuck on any aspect of achieving a comfortable hang in the Ridgerunner, let us know. There are a few best practices for the bridge hammock that I've learned from folks on the forums.

Welcome to the madness from Murphy NC. Use to live in Banner Elk back in the 70's.

End of September there will be a group hang at Grayson Highland State Park VA. This is about an hour north of Banner Elk.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
