    with Air Mattress or not?

    Hi, now i already build 90 degree hammock and test to sleep with and without mattress. what kind you choose to sleep. if you love to use air mattress, pls share brand and model of air mattress and why you choose this model. and if you don’t want air mattress, pls share your opinions too.

    With that type of hammock having baffles in the air mattress that run the same direction you are laying is important for structure. I would say the Big Agnes Rapide would do well in there and it is a nice insulated mattress.

    Based on my hammocktent.com 90 degree that is now unobtainium, I disagree. Unlike Amok's design, an air mattress is not required, although is more comfortable. I find a pad like a thermarest actually more comfortable than one with longer tubes like Exped. However, it shortens the hammock, while making it wider. That is the tradeoff. For my height, I use an exped for that reason, but if I was shorter, I'd prefer a thermarest or similar.
    It looks like Powerboils hammock could also use either style of pad. Hey, Powerboil, how long is your hammock? What is the longest size pad you can use? It looks great!
