but for us retired old fart types, its hard to find others our "age" to do simple overnight or two kind of hang/hikes. Would a " Meet Up" type of sub forum be appropriate here such as what Whiteblaze has?

I've thought about something like that too from time to time & think that's a great idea. Not only for day hikes & overnighters, but for longer, multi-day trips too if people were so inclined
Confirmed Retired Old Fart who might be interested. However, I no longer have a backpack so it would have to be something like car camping , or a short walk to campsite. I can do kayak camping.

I’m not yet retired, but getting on the closer side of it. I do 2-3 days trips fairly frequently in SC/NC/TN/VA. I try to remember to post in advance here before heading out, but I usually don’t get many takers. Your suggestion for a meet-up sub forum is a good one, although the mods will likely say just post those trips here.
