My post #39 tells you how to get to trailheads using Google Maps
Once at trailhead switch to AllTrailsPro to bring up your previously downloaded trails (from home with WI-FI)
    to see your trail.
Also if you get to 109 Uwharrie Trailhead. Wait for a bit and when you see a car load of backpackers about to embark Northbound on the trail, follow them if they look like deranged hammock campers!

    What could go wrong!

Just kidding, the trail is marked Uwharrie Trail North, and is marked with white blazes.

If going north from 109 Trailhead, when you get close to Spencer Creek Bridge, you will cross one or two small foot bridges with no handrails.
Very soon you will arrive at Spencer Creek Bridge, a wooden bridge wide enough to get a wheelchair across, with waist high wooden hand rails.
Then you is there. And there will be hammock campers already there. Campsites on both sides of bridge.

I'm planning to head in Sat afternoon with the kids. We have sports practice in the morning that will delay us. That makes meal planning easier, just dinner and breakfast.
A day camping in the rain is better than a good day at work,

That's the one. Last time we stopped there for some fried chicken, they were out of the book. I think the cashier said they would be getting more copies in but haven't stopped by since then.

Thanks Fellas. We downloaded the maps like suggested. Looks like late Friday before we actually get up there. Might hang at Yates that evening due to the time and roll out Saturday morning on the trail. I texted Twisty, but curious of the odds of camping at Yates that late in the evening(5-7pm) on a Friday?

TomTom, is Crystal’s Palace the name to that new shelter, on Uwharrie Trail just north of Yates Place?

Also it’s gonna rain Saturday and Sunday.
Some have already decided not to go, because of rain.

I’m gonna wait until Friday to decide whether to go or not on account of the weather.

Or I could tell the honest to God’s truth:
An earthquake happened at my house and I couldn’t get my car out past the boulders.

Or I have to wash my hair
    Hahaha

Yes Crystals Place=Crystals Palace=the new shelter on Uwharrie Trail going north of Yates Place Campground!
It does show on Google Maps
It’s a new or relatively new shelter.
It’s closer to Yates Place than 109 Trailhead

From Yates Place Campground take the spur trail to T intersection with Uwharrie Trail, turn right going north on Uwharrie Trail. You will cross Dusty Level Road and go maybe half mile more on Uwharrie Trail to the new shelter.
