    Dutchware chameleon vs 12 netless

I took the 12’ netless hammock on my weekend trip to the Bahamas. I’ve spent more time in it than the Chameleon as of now. I”ve only napped in the Chameleon in my house.

I really like the 12’ feel and even slept in it 1 and 1/2 nights.

Time will tell but I hope the Chameleon will be as comfortable for me. 6’3” and 200 lbs.

I also emailed Dutchware and they said they are working on a 12’ Chameleon and it should be ready around winter or spring…

I’ve wondered about the 12’ hammocks but haven’t made the jump. I sure do like my Chameleon right now and I’m 6’2” 215lbs. I sleep in it a lot. Maybe if they came in dream-tex fabric I’d go for a 12’. Tried my nephews BBXLC and that fabric, it felt nice.

I pack both. I nap and lounge in my 12" and sleep in my Wide. The 12" is my most comfortable and would love to sleep in it but need to add some bungee cord and mod my underguilt to fit.

I have the 12’ Dutch netless, and it’s a great hammock. It has a very comfortable lay, though I find that it’s a bit wider than I need; I get more use out of a 12’ SLD Voyageur, which is a better fit with the SLD 12’ Fronkey, and not quite so wide. I do find that I have to add extender loops for my pillow tethers and UQ, though — since most UQs are at least a little adjustable, a 6-10” loop of lightweight cordage at the foot end works fine. Hammock Gear doesn’t have a very adjustable (in terms of hammock length) primary suspension, but it works fine with the extender loop; if I skip it, the UQ is under so much tension in the bungies that I get compression.

I slept in the Chameleon Wide last night and currently prefer the 12 netless for comfort for me. Not sure if it is just the length, width, fabric or give from not having zippers sewn full length.. I would love to try a 12’ Chameleon though.

Keep in mind I only have 1 nights sleep in each and the rest is just napping or lounging around…
