Was joking, Tim. Sorry. I signed up long ago.
I'm bringing a couple of variants of the People's Bridge Hammock for the demonstration. One guy tried a PBH at Grayson a couple of years ago, and then went and built one for himself. Did a great job, too.

I found this post in the 2015 planning thread for the Fall Festival.
First, in bold, is me telling about the original 20 x 30 tarp, Big Blue, followed by HomeRun's fun way of celebrating, it's service.

I believe we first used big blue on the first of these Fall Festival hangs, 5 years ago & have used it at each one since, as well as two or three Winter Hangs in the same location.
But this past Winter Hang (Jan) the wind was brutal & big blue is beyond repair.
From HomeRun...
This is for Tim....thought I'd express my thanks for using his tarp all these years. A little humor to the tune of Jimmy Dean's "Big Bad John."
Big Blue
Ev'ry year at Grayson you could see him arrive
Riding in a wheelbarrow 'bout Sept 25.
Kinda long on the side like a mountain view
And everybody knew they'd be safe under Big Blue.
Big Blue, Big Blue
Big Ole Blue....
Big Blue.
Lots of folks didn't know where Blue called home
He was always near the fire but was never alone.
He didn't complain much against the painted hue
A little flutter in the breeze, happily there, Big Blue.
Big Blue, Big Blue
Big Ole Blue....
Big Blue.
There were pancakes and eggs and biscuits and beans
Rockdawg was cookin' in his old blue jeans.
Lo and Lauren, Slowhike there with his two
All was peaceful, smiles all around, under Blue.
Big Blue, Big Blue
Big Ole Blue....
Big Blue.
Then came that groan from a darkened sky
The leaves set flight and the timbers cried!
Campers were prayin' and their hearts beat fast
The storm was a comin' but they all held fast, under Blue.
Big Blue, Big Blue
Big Ole Blue....
Big Blue.
Through the dust and the smoke and the driven rain
Hung the giant of all tarps, born of Grayson fame!
His grommets now a tearin' as he gave out a groan
Between the tall oak trees, he held there alone, Big Blue.
Chorus
Now as time passed on, the clouds blew on by
His guy lines now tattered were limp in the sky.
But protected and safe was the hammock crew
Everybody now sure, he'd given his all, Big Blue.
Big Blue, Big Blue
Big Ole Blue....
Big Blue.
So they folded him up neatly for one last time
And put him in the barrow to make the climb.
Now it is with verse, we bow, us few
And say our humble grace, for our old friend...Big Blue.
Big Blue.... Big Ole Blue.
I too will something make and joy in it's making
Good to have variations in the hammock demo Dave.
Thanks

Debbie is still looking for the "perfect" hammock, the Darien hasn't arrived yet but I'm sure she would like a test drive on a WV hammock!
I have Blue's 3rd cousin somewhat worn and tattered but still keeps the water off if we need it. Keep me posted..
Gettin close!
I'm excited!
Bring a rain jacket and/or an umbrella... so it won't rain.
And don't forget those camp chairs!

Hi all! This will be my husband's and my first hang and first time at the Highlands and we're excited to be there! He's lurked on this forum for a while and has mentioned going to one of these periodically, just finally getting around to doing it!
Update: The wife's not going to be able to make it. I'll be heading up Friday instead of Thurs.
