    Greetings from Georgia

My name is Lee and I am a new hanger here. Been a tent camper for a while, but looking to make the transition to hammock hanging and came here for inspiration and knowledge.

Hello from Newnan. I started a few years ago with a Fox Outfitters hammock as well. Made a few changes since then. Enjoy the forums.

Lee, watch Shug’s ten to fifteen part series on YouTube—How to hang a hammock, insulation, how to pitch a tarp, suspensions etc.

Maybe go to a group hang or two. You will see all kinds of hammocks rigged ever which way.
Two hammock hangs, because first hang can be a blur, with learning more second hang.

Also there are some hammock campers over your way, y’all can private message each other to set impromptu weekend hangs-with two to four campers. If you post an impromptu weekend hang here on Hammock Forums, with a start time, location, and finish time——!!!Someone will go with you!!!

If you build it, they will come

If I got paid to tell lies
It just wouldn’t be as much fun

Take heed of the hammock learning curve~~~~
Stay patient and just take it a step at a time. First just learn to get a proper hang. The rest will come.
    Enjoy the hammock quest.

Thanks everybody. Shug, I have watched your series and have most of my equipment, my only missing piece is a UQ and TQ. I been looking at the JRB pieces and am about to order those. Been practicing using my whoopie slings and straps, plus ridgeline that I bought from Jeff Myers. I also have his tarp tie outs too.

I also have a kindle version of the Ultimate Hang 2 by Derek Hansen that I have been reading and re-reading over and over to make sure I have a lot of the concepts in my head.

NW GA, Calhoun to be exact. We are close to the Pinhoti Trail, probably like 20 - 30 mins away.

The Pinhoti (towards the north end) was actually where I did my first hammock trip. An academy sports hammock with a blue tarp from Walmart. Definitely have upgraded since.
