    Hennessy bottom entry resale market

What’s the resale market like for bottom entry Hennessy hammocks? I have a friend (no really I do) that has one. It’s a regular and he’s 6’2” so it’s too short, and after seeing my side zipper LSOH hammock he’d like to upgrade.

Would there be much demand for his hammock? It’s 18 years old but its got all the bits and it’s only seen 5-6 nights. I think he paid $180 Cdn for it. What should he expect to get for it.

If you search the For Sale forum here, as I just did, you'll see a few Hennessy items from time to time and can get an idea of pricing. To be specific, though, the last time I see a bottom entry Expedition sold was in 2019 and it went for $70 US. A few minutes spent on Ebay might help you as well, but one sale in the last three years means either that people don't sell Hennessys very often or they don't try.

My guess we don't sell them very often. I have two and nope, not selling them

Are the Hennessy's that well loved or do buyers just lose interest in them? They are a great design but how popular are they?

An 18-year old Hennessy Hammock? Even with just five or six night's use, you would be extremely lucky to get $70. Personally, I'd just keep it as a historical piece. Maybe 20 years down the road it might be worth more (maybe $10 more).

I had a Hennessy Asym Expedition Zip many years ago, and was lucky to sell it for $110, but that was with Dutch bling and the Hennessy suspension replaced by whoopie slings.
