Hello all. I'm a long-time lurker finally getting serious about buying my first hammock setup for backpacking, so I'm interested in ultralight gear and skills. I'm learning much from reading posts here and appreciate all of the great information.

Welcome from the Eastern side of Texas! Be safe and have some fun out there (well, maybe once fall gets here - camping in 100* is not much fun)
Welcome from NY.
There is an ultra lite gear sub forum here with lots of info pertaining to UL backpacking with a hammock. It is for donating members only but is well worth the $10/yr for it and other non-hammock-specific topics. It is way down at the bottom of the list, perhaps befitting its niche status, although there's a significant (and growing!) number of folks now who appreciate the joys of going light and simple.
For the longest time I avoided hammock set-ups because I didn't think they would be "UL compatible" but there's a lot of gear now that makes it entirely possible. For example, complete warm-weather setups (hammock, tarp, TQ and UQ) with combined weight of ~2.5lbs.
