I have made a few TQs with UP and it’s a lot easier to work with than down however it’s definitely heavier and doesn’t keep me as warm. I made them for some Scout trips where I knew it was going to be damp and I was tent camping so in those conditions they performed good

But isn't Climashield even bulkier and heavier? It certainly has its place though...

Climashield doesn’t compress as much, but it’s not heavier. Indeed, depending on the comparison quilts with Apex can be lighter as there is no baffling needed. Here’s a thread from a few years ago, including a video that CRO made to compare Apex, UP, and Down quilts they made.

I don't know... I don't have any direct experience. But I have an older (about 11 years) EE Prodigy TQ (current Revelation design using Apex) rated 40 deg and with 10D shell it weighs 17.7oz. And it actually works at 40 deg and wet... saved my bacon some years back at Seneca Creek/Spruce knob.

Maybe someone can tell us what a similarly rated UP quilt weighs. Dutch says CRO 40deg TQ weight is 23oz, BUT that's perhaps with a 20D shell and different insulation weight and quilt dimensions, etc, so likely not apple/apple comparison.
