    Underquilt width

Making my first underquilts. I ordered two kits from ripstopbytheyard for 3/4 length underquilts. Was planning to make them this weekend for a trip next week. Just realized I only received one piece of the Climashield Apex rather than two and I don't know if I can get another piece in time. The piece I received is 74x60. Plans for the underquilt say to make it 53x46. My question is, if I made the quilts 37" wide instead of the standard 46" wide, would it be adequate? Won't be using for extremely cold temps, but possibly in mid 40's. It would be total of 9" narrower or 4.5" on each side. Maybe it would still be fine?

If you made it for a directional lay, like a WB Yeti...maybe? The Yeti is 40W x46L. A HG Phoenix (symmetrical) is 44W x 52L.

I'd call them and see if they can expedite/express ship the missing piece.

How skinny are the hammock users and how do they sleep? It might work if they are skinny kids who sleep in their backs all night. Probably really pushing the limit for adults, particularly side sleepers. Remember that you'll lose another 1-3" sewing the seams so you'll really only have an effective width of about 33-35". That would be too narrow for most adults. I think the narrowest standard cottage UQ I've seen is 40".
~ All I want is affordable, simple, ultralight luxury. That’s not asking too much is it?

I exchanged emails with them. I don't know what happened in the ordering process but when you add a quilt kit, it adds each component to your cart and for whatever reason, I only had half of the insulation needed in my cart, so I only paid for half of what was needed and that's all I received. They will sell me the other piece at a discount but would charge me for expedited shipping which appears to be about $50. Not worth it for that.

John at Trailheadz under quilts are plenty wide.
Noticeably wider than my other quilts.
    Check his website for dimensions.
I prefer sewn foot box top quilts. Check on order blank which you want: snaps or sewn
