However, my guess is that at those temperatures you won't even have to vent the UQ. At home, the average mattress has an R rating of something like 20 and yet we don't need to vent them... just kick off the blanket, duvet, whatever.
+1 for this comment. I use a 0 degree UQ year round and I've forgotten to "vent" more than once and not had a problem. It's your TQ and whatever base layers you're wearing (or not) in the hammock that have more to do with how uncomfortably warm you'll feel.

The converse is not true - a UQ that is not rated warm enough for colder temperatures will make you feel uncomfortable indeed.

YMMV of course, but I've not found any real need to switch out the bottom insulation, TBH.

I'm probably one of the few people that shed my UQs for part of the year. As of now I've been UQless for about three weeks. Of course my current location is southern Arizona and we've already had it reach 113° in camp (daytime temp, nights are about 30°-40° cooler)

If I had to lay on a mattress I'd be laying in sweat, instead I'm in a breezy Mayan style hammock w/a bug blocking UQP loose under me.

Hoping to get our camp moved up to high elevations soon, and then maybe I'll break out my 40° shorty again.

Yeeeah. I probably would ditch the UQ at that, too.

I've never camped in temps that hot - and I did summer Scout camp in Central Florida. Man.

Wow! I put my 30% on when it was about 60 and in 5 minutes it felt like I was going to burst into flames. I don't sleep well when it's too hot.

I always like going SOBO; somehow, it feels like going downhill.

Lol, yes it is . . . very dry. Of course we are about to start the monsoon here so it will soon be "humid" here and everyone will be complaining about the 30% humidity.

Here's hoping the monsoon delivers enough precipitation this year.
