    Walmart hammock to the rescue

I had to go on a quick work trip and threw my hammock gear in the truck to camp with. Got ready to set up and realized my blackbird was not in the bag. Ran to a nearby Walmart to grab a cheap tent and instead found this thing for $42. Very surprised, would highly recommend for anyone just wanting to try hammocking out. Material is thick like 1.9 at least and bug net is heavy duty. Honestly one of the best nights sleep ive ever had in a hammock. I'm 6'3 200# and this thing was just fine. You never know.

That's cool! Kind of a nice surprise find. There is nothing wrong with stuff like that if it works for what you need. I used to sleep great in my starter hammock I bought from Costco back in the day. I would still be using it if it wasn't so heavy.

That was my starter hammock. I ended up picking up another one on clearance for like $20. They are part of my spares/loaners gear box, along with the Amazon tarps and daisy chain straps that I started out with.

Nice they had something in stock. Most recreational gear our way is completely sold out.
Some days I can't tell whether I found a rope or lost a horse...

Tempted to buy one while waiting on my WB. Could be a loaner as well. Any model/type by chance? I see one similar online...

It’s the Equip brand netted hammock. They sell regular hammocks and a separate bugnet as well, but I have not tried those out.

    Taylo,

Great to hear about your find and its success. If you have a minute could you tell me the length of that hammock?

    Thank you.

It's just under 9.5 feet long and 59 inches wide.

    Thanks Turtle.

I was curious as Taylo said he was 6 foot three. Sweet that it worked.

    Be safe all.
