Question Lynx Full Length with an XLC Blackbird

Thinking of pulling the trigger on an UQ upgrade during the upcoming Memorial Day sale -- I knew it was a mistake to open that email.

I have a friend who loves his Wooki, but I am a bit of a shifty sleeper -- first on my side, then on my back and then back and forth all night. My inclination is to just stick with what I know to work for my style of sleep, which is a full length UQ. Any thoughts on using a full length Lynx with an XLC Blackbird? I understand that this is optimally designed for use with a Ridgerunner, but would it work with a Blackbird or is the sizing too wide?

By all means, talk me into a Wooki if that is the way to go. I am open to whatever lends itself to the most comfortable hang.

    Thanks for the input.

    Cheers.

Pretty sure the Lynx is only for the Ridgerunner.

The Lynx is our series of full-length underquilt designed for our Ridgerunner hammock, (It does NOT fit the Blackbird, the “Yeti” is designed to fit the Blackbird, the “Lynx” is designed for the Ridgerunner) it’s available in 3-season or winter weights, and is available in a torso-length or a full-length model. (see Yeti underquilt description for benefits of torso-length underquilts).
You're gonna need an UQ that will work on a gathered-end hammock, be it a WB Wooki or UGQ Zeppelin or HG Incubator, etc.

Yeah, yeah . You will not be happy trying to make a Lynx work on a gathered end hammock.

I also sleep on my side and back and all over the place throughout the night and don't have any issues with a wooki. The only time I need to slightly adjust is pulling it up after I get into the hammock.

It's fully length and doesn't move around underneath at all during the night, no matter what position you sleep in (in my experience).

Great, thank you. Input is much appreciated and valuable, as always.

I have to confess that I didn't actually read the description -- that's how caught up I was in choosing my custom colours.

Wooki it is, then. Set it and forget it!

Like the others, I would encourage you to go with something made for a gathered end hammock, like a Wooki or a HG Incubator. If it helps, I LOVE my Wooki paired with my WB Eldorado.

Wooki on my Eldorado is stellar. There is exactly zero adjustment. Toss it on both ends and your done. It's never slipped or ended up in a funny spot. It has nowhere to go. It's really well designed, and is lighter and packs smaller than a full size UQ. This is one of those times when it really is a no brainer.

If you are interested in a synthetic uq, Try the trail winder uq, from simply lite designs. You can get the insulation in several widths. He also has a snap on insulation booster so you can modify the quilt for colder weather. (Ive been really happy with mine!).
I agree with everyone else- a lynx is great with a bridge hammock, but would be a disaster on a gathered end!
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either, just leave me alone.
